Reclined
shortcomings
blaring in your face
one of those nights when you can't decide where you stand on things like
capital punishment
....
so you cry. with the guilt of knowing that another human died
because someone like you or I
stood by and said
I don't know.
lavish
can be pink
carpeting under cumbersome
seating that's soft and gives,
and ceiling fans in every room
while we presume
someone else will be the one to do.
a slothful swelling in the back of your mind
but you leave it behind
better inclined to bathe and dine
and deny.
less and less can you get by
on everything you have that gets you by,
when you've looked at everything you have and think
why? |
